Who to Blame?

Who to Blame? We are always at a crossroad in our life.  Which road we choose, and why, determines our future. At what point do we stop blaming the past on the failures of today? Even the problems …

Greed in Grieving

Death knocks on all of our doors.  Some are made to answer sooner than others.  As the ones left behind we grieve for them, or do we?  We do grieve but it is because of our greed.  We want them, we need them, we miss them, so we grieve.  We are happy that they no longer are in pain or suffering.  We take solace in the fact that they knew God and are now singing in that great beyond.  They are with family and with friends, and we are happy.  Yet because of our greed, we still cry…………Continue Reading

A Clearer View

What an awesome experience this last weekend was for not only our youth but for the adults as well. We went to a place in the world that most will never go, the slums of Ecuador. We did not actually travel to Ecuador rather we traveled to Lineville, Alabama to the S.I.F.A.T. (Servants in Faith and Technology) grounds for a 48 hour simulation of life in the slums of Ecuador. …… Continue Reading

Would you plant that seed?

Would you plant that seed?

So you think you have to make tough choices? God had to make a choice to plant a seed that would eventually be used to hang his son. Could you make that same choice? We all have hard times and have to make tough decisions but try to keep it in perspective. God chose to sacrifice his only son so that we may live, so that we can be forgiven.

Would you plant that seed?

I Did

I Did

We were so young and so out of touch. Remember the words,”You are to young?” How about, “It’ll never last!” How about, “There’s no talking to you!” I remember them.  Oh the nay-sayers were out in full force. Well to all of the nay-sayers do you remember me sayin,

“I don’t care! I love her!”

I Had a Dream

I had a dream this weekend of a revival, a neighborhood revival. It was awesome. One of the children said some nasty things to an adult from the neighborhood and, as a neighborhood, we took action. We sat this child down and talked with her. Then we prayed with her. What started off as parents coming together to right a wrong turned into a prayer session in front of our home. Soon other neighbors came and joined in prayer. We prayed that God would come into this child’s heart and show them that although the color of skin was different, our hearts were all red. That they all beat ….. Click Photo to Continue Reading

The Audacity of the American People

Is there a buck and if so, where does it stop? Who are we, as Americas, to question the President and his minions? His smug demeanor and the inexcusable blaming of others has stepped beyond Chicago and now has corrupted the most corrupted city we have, Washington DC. How dare we question his leadership, how dare we question his ethics and policies, oh the audacity of the American people!

obama

In a world lacking of personal responsibility, our Commander and Chief is setting a shining example of avoiding responsibility. With so much going on in our country the only thing that he seems to want to take credit for is his golf score. The era of Chicago politics has completely enveloped Washington DC.

Hope and Change

Hope and Change

One day you are on top of the world.  Your family was happy, healthy, and living the middle class dream.  Then things that you have no control over turn your world upside down.  You had a little in 401k, a few little investments, and had just bought my dream house.  America seemed to die a little that year and now four years later we are in the ICU on life support.

I miss my America

To sleep under a starry sky

It used to be a dream

Now it’s a nightmare with no end

To listen to the sounds of the night

My Time of Peace

My Time of Peace

All things must die.  However all things have the opportunity to live forever.  Death is but a gateway to memories and monumental discoveries.  It is hard to let go but just imagine the joy that your loved one is experiencing.  Life is short but an eternity with the ones that you love in the arms of God is going to be amazing.  That will be,

my time of peace.

The Tears Left Behind

She drinks whiskey for breakfast, and he’s never noticed                                                          He kisses her cheek, as he runs out the door                                                                              He’s gone for a week, and she’s left there crying                                                                           For the man that she loves, and a love that’s gone wrong

She cries for her lover, her friend, and her husband                                                                    She cries for the memories, that have faded in time                                                                   She cries as she sleeps, with no one beside her                                                                               And that no one will notice, the tears left behind
