One simple I love you
He stands at her bedside, just brushing her hair
As she looks out the window, with a lonely lost stare
He reads her his bible, as she holds his hand
And he prays to his maker, please help me understand
Every day he gets there, before she awakes
And he makes sure her photos, are perfectly straight
At night she is sleeping, before he will leave
As he kisses her lips, and sends God his plea
Lord I hope she’s not lonely, in this world of hers
And I pray she’s as happy, as we both once were
God I know you are with her, and holding her hand
And he cries as he straightens, her gold wedding band
