Would you plant that seed?

So you think you have to make tough choices?  God had to make a choice to plant a seed that would eventually be used to hang his son.  Could you make that same choice?  We all have hard times and have to make tough decisions but try to keep it in perspective.  God chose to sacrifice his only son so that we may live, so that we can be forgiven.

Would you plant that seed?

Would you plant that seed that grew into the tree

That Jesus would hang from, and die for you and me

If you knew the price, that he soon would pay

Would you plant the tree that held him that day

.

God knew of the cost, with the seed in his hand

So he picked a special spot, far off in a special land

He buried the seed, deep down in the ground

Knowing that one day, his son would be bound

.

Would you plant that seed that grew into the tree

That Jesus would hang from, and die for you and me

If you knew the price, that he soon would pay

Would you plant the tree that held him that day

.

God watched it grow from a sapling to a tree

He watched as the Romans brought Jesus to his knees

He watched as they formed the tree into a cross

Knowing that without it the world would be lost

.

Would you plant that seed that grew into the tree

That Jesus would hang from, and die for you and me

If you knew the price, that he soon would pay

Would you plant the tree that held him that day

.

Now nothing remains of that old wooden cross

Just stories and songs that tell of the loss

And God knew it all when he planted that seed

Because of his love, we’ve all been set free

.
